(OCC) Paradoxes in the Experience

This is where we can talk about the paradoxes in this experience.

For example, how are wizards in the 1990's using Facebook and Blogger?

Why are Harry, Hermione, and Ron being so open up their feelings and personal dramas on Facebook?  Are we supposed to imagine they're sharing this with all their Facebook friends, or are we supposed to imagine it's their private thoughts.

If the wizards did have internet capabilities back then, how might that have changed the outcome of the story?

Do these paradoxes ever annoy you, or are you good at ignoring them?

As for the 'internet capabilities' issues, I offer you all what seems to have become my catchphrase: "It's Facebook. Magic Facebook. Don't question it.'

I do quite like the new development that slants the experience more toward RPing, though. Of course, that might just be because I like RPing. XD

Wren,

I think that's a good attitude to have. I think while some people get too caught up in proper grammar, I get too caught up on historical accuracy. I need to learn to relax about that!

It's Magical Facebook. :D I like that. It really is magical. And as to the Harry, Hermione and Ron expressing their feelings, as to other characters doing that as well, for me it just makes the experience even more real. I know what happened in the books to the trio and their pov, but I don't know what the DE-s and Nosy were doing at that time so it's good to read about it. It doesn't make anything worse for me, but only better.

As for me, I ignore the paradoxes if I don't fully understand what's going on. I've only been on the Internet since June 2010, so I don't know what's been around for how long. :P Silly me. I'm Techno-Amish.

Tricorvus,

Wow! How did you manage to avoid the internet for so long? And how do you feel now that you're on it? Are you glad you joined the cyberspace world?

One BIG thing:
Muggle technology, of any kind, does NOT work on Hogwarts grounds.

I went a big rogue with this site and did my own dating system.

So...the problem is I'm way off now. I'm in July and the Magic is Might Continues site is in the beginning of June still.

It's all a bit messed up.

I'm thinking it's probably best that Alex stays relatively quiet until we're in the same time period.

Or we could say it's magic and Alex somehow jumped into the future. But I don't think I like that.

OH.... That makes sense. Well, yeah, it probably is a good idea if you wait until we are on the same page. I'll ask the other admins to speed up time a bit, and you can slow it down a bit, and eventually we'll be on the same page.

Thank you for being so understanding!

I'm sure we'll be on the same track in a few weeks or so : )

Okay! We'll be awaiting your arrival!

Please be nice to each other, even if you disagree with what the other person is saying.

If you suddenly feel possessed by a futuristic Muggle, PLEASE go to the OOC section to the right.
