Well....so....I can now say I've had personal experience with the Cruciatus Curse. That was fun.
No, actually it was not.
It turns out that unfortunately my dad and Julia were wrong. Rhyden did send the hateful horrible note, and he did not simply ignore Julia's next owl.
He appeared at our cabin while I was eating breakfast with my parents. And he wasn't alone. He was with his sister and mother. They were very scary. I can't get their faces out of my mind.
I will admit that Rhyden was pretty hot, but not so much so once he opened his mouth and said "Hello soon to be dead Muggles". Then he waved his wand, said something, and broke pretty much everything in the kitchen. His mother and sister helped.
While they were breaking stuff, Julia came out of her bedroom. Was she scared or angry to see these wizards terrorising us? No, she happily ran to Rhyden. I think she planned to give him a hug.; but the hatred on his face put a stop to that. I knew then that she knew that Rhyden had really sent her the note. And the look on Julia's face was the worst thing I have ever seen in my entire life.
Rhyden's sister then said to Julia.. "Before we give you up to someone who will have a lot of fun with you, we're going to have our own fun." (Note: This might not be the exact dialogue that occurred. It's not as if I had a pen and paper for transcribing all the melodramatic interactions. But I think I've captured it fairly well.)
Rhyden laughed and said, "we're going to kill your whole family. You get to watch."
Rhyden's sister said. "Who gets to go first?"
Julia started crying. Seeing her cry made me cry.
My dad said, "Please don't do this. We'll give you anything you want".
Rhyden's mother said, "You should have taught this piece of worthless rubbish that it's wrong to use love spells".
Julia said she didn't use a love spell. I believe her.
Rhyden's mother said, "Of course you did, you little liar. It's impossible for a Pureblood Slytherin... whose family can be traced back six generations.... to even be friends with a filthy mudblood." (it might have been five generations. Or seven? I forget)
Rhyden said, "I could never love anything like you." Oh, I hate that guy.
My mum then went crazy brave. I won't try to write what she said, because I couldn't even begin to give it justice. But it was something along the lines of magic doesn't make all wizards superior to muggles. It makes some of them very inferior. She said anyone who can't manage to break up with someone, without resorting to murdering them and their whole family, is pathetic.
The sister got very angry and she raised her wand. She started to say you-know-what at my mum. I thought that was the end. It's not a nice feeling to think you're about to watch your own mum be killed.
Then the mother stopped her and said, "No, kill her children. Let her watch".
I waited to die. I really don't know what I was thinking at this point. It all happened so fast.
Anyway, as you can guess I'm still alive....obviously. We're all alive.
For some reason, we were shown mercy. I don't know why. Did they have a change of heart at the last minute? Did they never plan to kill us? Maybe they just wanted to scare us?
They pointed the wands at us and I waited for the end of me. Instead I felt horrible horrible horrible horrible pain. Then it was all over and they vanished. I was so happy to have no pain. And I was happy to be alive. But then later I was less happy because I started thinking what's the point of living in a world where people can be so mean to each other. Maybe it would be easier to just die. And what if they come back to hurt us again? Or what if someone else comes back to hurt us?
I'm okay I suppose. Whatever doesn't kill you makes you stronger. Right?
I don't know.
It turns out they did it to my mom and dad too, so we all got to experience the exciting Cruciatus Curse. What did my mum say about it? It was almost as bad as childbirth. Okay. Yeah. I think I'll be adopting my kids.
In other news, we're being kicked out of our holiday park. My dad paid for the damages, but they don't want us around anymore. Lots of people heard our screams, so they say we're too disruptive.
Anyway, I hope all of you are okay. I can't say I've been in the best of moods lately. There are moments where I wish they had just killed us. That's probably a stupid thing to feel.
Oh well.

How could they do this. it is horribul. You did not do any thing this has gone to far. They have to be taught a lesson. Im going to find them you could have been hurt. Ill find them. You can come stay at my camp with a few freinds I can send you a Patronus with our location if you want I can even take you there my self. I am sorry this happened.
Alex, oh, where to begin?
First of all, I'm very, VERY relieved you and your family survived.
Second, I've got some special spells I'm saving just for Rhyden and his family in case I run into them. And, believe me, I WILL run into them. I won't retaliate, because that just leads to more pain and suffering, but I will disarm them to make sure they can't do this to anyone else and to let them feel what it's like to be defenceless. There are plenty of Wandless muggleborns who will be very happy to have their wands and won't use them for evil.
Third, regarding Julia, I already had mixed feelings about her, and this incident increases my misgivings even more. Joyfully running to Rhyden despite the fact that he and his family were terrorizing yours ... I can think of no possible reasonable explanation. I know she's your sister and you love her, but her willingness to sacrifice the safety, even the lives, of her family is inexplicable. It's not simply a matter of immaturity; something more serious is wrong. Is her infatuation with Rhyden and her willingness to accept his cruelty towards her and your family the result of a pathological self-hatred? Is she a heartless girl who wants what she wants, regardless of the cost to others? I could go on, but I don't want you to feel I'm insulting your sister. I'm not. I'm expressing my concern for your safety and your parents' because Julia is compromising it for her wants and desires and has been for some time. She needs to alter her behavior drastically and immediately!
Regarding the muggles at the holiday park, what the heck is wrong with them?!?? They should have called the police to help you in response to your screaming!! Is everyone, muggle and wizard, stupid and heartless? Is no place safe? Regardless, now that Rhyden's family know where you are, you need to leave there anyway. The Order will be happy to send a couple of agents to relocate you and your family to a safe haven. Just say the word, and they'll be on their way immediately.
What can I do? How can I help?
Proud Mudblood and Aoife,
Thank you. We really appreciate any help you can give to us. I told my parents about your plans to disarm Rhyden and their family. They're very grateful, and it makes me feel a lot better.
Julia feels awful about everything. She has apologised a million times. I think she hates Rhyden now, but she hates herself even more. Please don't think she's an awful person. She's not. She just chose the wrong person to love and then she clung to hope.
As for the holiday park owners. Yeah. They're rude. But in their defence, we probably acted a bit suspicious. I mean we couldn't tell them the truth, and we didn't have enough time to come up with a shared story. So it kind of looks like we went nuts and broke everything ourselves. I think they think we're part of some weird and violent cult.
We're trying to figure out what we want to do next. We might return to London. We might stay here. I'll let you know when we figure that out.
I know it's a lot to ask, but if we do stay in Australia, we'd really appreciate help with some kind of protective charm. Maybe you guys know of some wizards here who can help us? Or maybe you can come. It's really far though. I guess you could apparate? If you can't and you have to fly, my dad said he'd pay for the plane tickets. Hopefully you can use magic though because the plane ride is way too long.
I would be happy to take you to Australia I just sent an owl to some of my freinds to see if we can go by floo network (which means travilling threw the fireplace). But it does not look like that will work. If that does not work we can go by brooms or Thestrals ( thestrals are winged horses with beakes, that look like they are dead, but they are frendly, and you can only see them if you have seen someone die). But if that fails I can Apparite you. But that could also take time because I can only do a few at a time and I can only cover a certain distance. Once we get there I can put up all the charms I know to protect you.
Proud Mudblood,
Sorry. I've been confusing. We're already in Australia, so we don't need to travel there. I think we just need to have someone give us some protective charms. I don't think Julia is up to doing that for us.
We don't know where we're going to be living yet. My parents are looking into that. Once we know, then maybe you can come? Or do you know of any wizards here?
Losing my parents, despite how careful we were, and wishing I could have them back makes it hard for me to understand how anyone could risk putting their family in danger, even if unintentional. It's a sore subject for me, so I tend to react very strongly - perhaps I overreact - but, obviously, Alex, you know Julia best, so I absolutely trust your judgment.
Should you decide to stay in Australia, we can connect you with trustworthy wizards and witches who can set up security for you. I'd offer to apparate there, but that's beyond the maximum recommended distance limit, and you run a *huge* risk of getting lethally splinched if you try traveling that far. Port keys are out. We got a few set up without Ministry detection, but they've spotted most of them. Unfortunately, they intercepted some muggleborns we were trying to move out of the U.K., so we don't want to use port keys except under the most dire circumstances. If forced to make a choice, most people will take Azkaban over certain death, but we'd rather not put people in the position of making that choice.
Regardless, let me know what your family decides - Australia, London, somewhere else - and we'll work around your plans, communicating by patronus.
I can come to Australia if you can find a secure way of telling me were you are. I should be able to get there within 2-4 days if you tell me.
Be very careful, Proud Mudblood, if you plan to apparate. The Ministry has become adept at tracking multiple apparation, and they won't hesitate to violate international boundaries and treaties to snag "undesirables"!
(Hard to believe the Ministry would become adept at anything, but there you have it.)
Hello Aiofe and A Mud Blood,
This is Alex's and Julia's dad. Alex has told me a lot about all of you, and she really enjoys these friendships she has made. It's been a bit stressful, and I think it's been good for her to have this distraction.
We deeply appreciate your offers of help. Although I'm sure Alex would be jumping with excitement with the news of any of you visiting; We would feel bad asking you to come all this way. It would probably be easier if you could help us connect to some trustworthy Australian wizards.
I have full faith in Harry Potter and I believe this war shall end soon. When that happens, it would be wonderful if we could all get together to celebrate.
Cheers.
Alex,
Rhyden better watch out or I'll wring his scrawny neck and his dear family through. Gah! I hate being so helpless. I miss being an auror. I hate being this helpless. When this is over he's on my list of people to bring to justice. Harming muggles is reprehensible! It's beyond cruel and I will not stand for it.
On another note, I do indeed have a friend in Australia. Say the word and I'll send her an Owl. She's a bit...well...she's an extremely capable wizard but a bit low on the sense of humor. She's a half blood and an old classmate of mine.
Stay free and for God's sake don't let Julia anywhere near an owl or she'll get you all killed and then I'd have to leave England to track him down.
-SC Mather
Thank you Aoife, it looks like I have to fly, it's a good thing I can actully fly without help from anything. Laurence it is no trouble of mine I need to get away for a little bit. It is not hard for me to travel. If you guys could send me someting as an indication to were you are. Like on the Rebelloun website but don't leave a comment unless you say you will. I hope I get to see you in person in a week or so.
SC Mather: Thank you. It will be nice if Rhyden is brought to justice...and his family. Have you heard from Aoife, by any chance? I'm wondering if she's taken away their wands yet.
Please send an owl to your friend. Or maybe you should wait until we've found a place. We're in a hotel now, but I don't think we're going to stay here too long.
Proud Mudblood: You can fly? That's awesome. Will you need our exact address or just the town? Do you think it's safer for me to leave it here or on the rebellion site. I trust all of you, but I guess other people could be listening. Oh yuck. That's depressing.
Anyway, how about I'll leave the name of the town on the rebellion site as soon as I figure out where that'll be. I don't think it will be in London. We've been reading the news and it doesn't sound like a place we want to be. We'll probably stay in Australia.
Anyway, in a few days hopefully I'll know and I'll write the name of the town. I'll write it backwards on the rebellion site. Or do you think the site is very secure?
Yes I can fly and it is awesome but hard. That sounds good. The rebellion site is very secure. Just right it on the The Truth Behind Harry’s Near Capture artical at the bottom and I will be there in 2-4 days. Hope to see you soon.
Oh my... Oh my gosh Alex.
I can't even put into words how completely wrong this is. All I can say is that I am horrified, and very relieved that you and you family are okay.
Thanks, Mia.
I think we'll be okay. Hopefully
