Luna

I just finished reading the news and saw that Luna Lovegood is okay.   I'm so happy to hear that!

This is horrible to say.  Please don't hate me.   But I took a few days break from reading news from the UK.   I don't know.  I guess I was trying to be in denial about what's going on over there.   It makes me feel bad because my life is so normal and okay; and over there it seems like the world is ending.

It was selfish of me.   So, I'm sorry.   It's not fair that I can shut it all out, and you guys are stuck living in it.

Anyway though, this morning I felt really guilty about being avoidant.   I figured I should read the news.  I braced myself for something horrible.   I guess what really scares me is that one day I'll read that one of you has been killed or captured.   I don't know how I'd handle that.

It was okay though.   I mean I see Ron Weasley is wanted by the Ministry.  That's kind of bad news, but not extremely surprising.   On the bright side....at least he doesn't have that Spattergroit disease thing.

I was so happy to see the news from a few days ago.   Luna's alive and okay.   It feels like it might be a good omen.

Lynette, Mia, and Sophie....I hope you're doing okay at Hogwarts.

Proud Mudblood, did you ever find a way to get into the school?   Is it possible?

Aoife, I am wondering how your friend is doing?   Are you adjusting to your one eye and the patch?

SC Mather,  I'm worried about you, and please know that you're in our thoughts.

Alex,

I can completely understand you wanting to stay away from the news, avoiding it.

Your concern is sweet. I hope it never comes to the time when one of us is in the news because... well, you know.

Things at Hogwarts are getting worse and worse. I'm still fighting, but it's hard to keep hope. The news of Luna however, has given us all hope. We had a party.

Mia,

Thanks for being so understanding. I'm sorry Hogwarts keeps getting worse. It's so horrible because things were already bad enough already.

I'm glad you were able to have a Luna party. Is she back at school? I imagine it would be nice for you guys to be with her again. Maybe for her sake though, it's better to stay away?

I don't think I can get in the school. It's locked air tight.

Alex,
It makes perfect sense, your wish to avoid the news.
You shouldn't feel bad, in your position I would want to do the same.
As Mia said things at Hogwarts are getting much worse.

Read this one article:

This is a perfect example of the terrible things at Hogwarts.

I was at the party. So, naturally, I was 'punished'.

But, on the bright side, we have a DA meeting tomorrow, which'll be good. It'll be our first meeting without Luna & Ginny.
We are going to be practicing Patronus's which is great. I definitely need it.

Thank you for your concern.
Stay safe everybody!
We can win this war!

Proud Mudblood,
If there is anything I can do to help you in, I would.
But I think you're right when you say you can't get in.

They have upped security so much lately. If there is ANYTHING I can help with, let me know.

Alex, I don't blame you for avoiding the news here. If I were in your position, I would be tempted to, too. Without magic, it would be too dangerous for you to get involved in the struggle, and you're so far away ... mostly, all you can do is worry (but your moral support is greatly appreciated). Reading the news, when so much of it is bad and getting worse, just makes you worry more. But there is enough good news to give us hope - Luna's rescue, knowing Harry is alive and with his friends, more and more people joining the Rebellion - so I hope you'll stay connected.

And everyone at Hogwarts, be careful. I know you want to defy the administration, but we're increasingly certain that armed conflict will erupt in the not too distant future, and you'll need to be at full strength when that time comes. If you can, keep up your DA activities so you can practice your skills, but try to avoid unproductive - and painful - confrontations with the Carrows.

And, Alex, I'm sad to report that my friend passed away. The curse used on him remains a mystery, and the Healers, despite heroic efforts, simply could not reverse the effect. Fortunately, they were able to alleviate his pain, and his family was by his side. I attended his funeral and, after staying with his family for a few days, have returned to duty. While most of his family has gone into hiding, his son decided not to return to school and has joined the Order. His mum wasn't happy about that, but he said he can't think about potions and runes and NEWTS when his dad's killer is still out there.

As for me, I've been declared fit for duty on the front lines again. I missed out on the animal rescue mission, but I'll be on board for the next one. In the meanwhile, I'm being sent on a fact finding mission and, frankly, am tremendously annoyed that the Order is sending someone with me. I've been out there working on my own for months. I don't need any help. Tonks said it's just this once, my first time back out, to make sure I'm mentally and physically 100% again. Well, without the eye, I guess I'm 99.5% and that's as good as I'll get.

Oh, the eye patch. Tonks put some spell on it so it changes color with my moods. I'm always razzing her about her hair, so she thought it would be funny for me to know what it's like. I'm buying a new eye patch the first chance I get.

All of you are so nice. Thank you.

Lynette, I'm sorry Hagrid was fired, and I am hoping your punishment wasn't too awful. I have a feeling it was though.

Aoife, I'm very sorry about your friend dying.

I can't blame his son for joining the order. I know it's dangerous, but going to Hogwarts doesn't sound very safe right now either.

I'm glad you're back in the action. I'm sorry you're having to work with someone when you don't want to. Maybe it will turn out better than you imagine?

That's really cool about your eye patch. Well, I shouldn't say that because you don't like it. I just mean the idea is kind of neat. But I hope you're able to get a new eye patch that doesn't change colours.
