We Shall Not Be Silenced

I wanted to create a place where we could talk to each other.

Does anyone have anything to say?

It's sad that we didn't get enough post-it notes out there.    But I'd say we definitely tried hard.    I give us credit for that.

Please Note:   If you are one of the Ministry's undesirables....especially if you're in the top 100, please do not use your real name when commenting.   I can't guarantee that Ministry officials will not see this page.    Please protect yourself and don't flaunt your identity.

What was the final count? I didn't have a chance to see it before the Facebook page went down.

Miss Muggle Bug said...

I didn't see, but I'm frustrated that I put out all these post-its, and now they link to a dead end page. Now it will be very hard to recruit people.

Yes I have alot to say.I'm pissed. 30,000 was just too much for a website so new. There were only about 300 people actively posting and what not. 15,000 was just too much. We made 10,00 and I'm amazed we did it. I think they should not have taken the site down. I know there are people across my city who woke up to these post its looked it up online saw nothing and will forget about it. They should have left the rebel message site up another day. I am really disappointed but those digital post its were hard. No forum I knew would let you post a picture. That omegel crap didn't work neither.

What do you guys think??

Miss Muggle Bug said...

I agree, Ravenclaw Seline.

It's very unfair. The whole point was to recruit people. We're lucky enough if people actually take the time to go to the site. Now it's a waste if they come to a dead end. I'm hoping the rebellion finds a way to fix the link. But you're right. They should have left it up in the first place, at least for a day. Even if the rebellion fixes it, by that most of the post-its will have disappeared.

Maybe (hopefully) the problem is only temporary.

As for Omegal, I saw things there I wish I hadn't seen. Someone returned my link with a link of their own. I thought it would be polite to look. Big mistake.

Ravenclaw Seline said...

Thank you Muggle Bug that's exactly what happened to me. I'm an adult and everything but was not prepared for that site at all. Not to mention honbestly I visited over 45 forum sites and none of them let you post a pic/link.

I am very disappointed in the MIM reaction to us not completing the task. I understand they were disappointed but the message from tonks was just so cold. They have to learn to treat their supporters better. Like seriously everyone in my house was helping. Even my little brother who's on Kindergarten was posting. I mean come on that deserves some admiration and respect at the least.

I think the way they handle the next couple days will determine how many stay and how many leave the site.

Miss Muggle Bug said...

Yeah. I think it's disappointing and frustrating...especially when you had family and friends involved.

However, my feeling is I had fun doing it, so at least there's that. It will be a bit sad if it was all in vain, but I have faith that the rebellion will fight back.

Anonymous said...

We actually made it to a little over 13,000

Ravenclaw Seline said...

Yeah I met some great people while the site was up and I'll never give up on the Rebellion. I guess I just needed to vent a bit. It was fun and I had a blast doing it. I just wish I could have seen more people's face when they say the post its. Thank you for making this site. It totally helped me remember this is all for fun.

Aoife said...

Muggle Bug, are you running this site? Just checking before I comment...

Miss Muggle Bug said...

Aolfe: Yes, I'm running this site.

Anonymous: I think we did very well!

Ravenclaw: We all need to vent sometimes.

I must admit to not taking part in the Rebellion before now, out of confusion and fear. However, with the latest news from Hogwarts - using the Cruciatus curse, and after talking personally to Madam Umbridge about the new disciplinary actions (she says that it is even needed in small cases - such as a student forgot to do their homework). I'm afraid to make myself anything but anonymous at this time, I am not a brave person and I'm being watched by my family already, by showing a small amount of questioning. I can not approve of what the Ministry is doing, especially since I have two children at Hogwarts myself.

I apologise for not taking part before now, but I would like to stay in touch with what the Rebellion is doing and see if I can help in anyway. Nothing the Ministry says these days matches up.

Since I do not wish to give my name, please refer to me as Mohs.

Miss Muggle Bug said...

Mohs,

I think you are very brave. It's brave of you to admit your confusion. And it's brave of you to come forward and offer your help to those who need it. It's not to late to take part in the rebellion.

Thank you.

Icarus Colby said...

Like Mohs, the recent news from Hogwarts, as well as the treatment of the "undesirable" Finch-Fletchley, has persuaded me to join the Rebellion. I regret that I didn't come to my senses in time to help with the Leave the Scar campaign, but I'll do my best to help now.

I'm currently offering shelter and aid to Muggleborns and others on the run, as well as discounts to rebels, from my apothecary in Mould-on-the-Wold. Considering I wasn't even questioned during this recent slew of raids, it seems the Ministry isn't willing to make an enemy of the Colby family just yet, so I think I'm fairly safe revealing my identity here.

Miss Muggle Bug said...

Icarus, I'm glad you've joined us. Although I'm not even sure I can count myself as part of the rebellion. I'm far away from the action, and am safe for now. I did participate in the Leave the Scar campaign, but I feel inadequate when I compare myself to those like you who are risking their safety to help others. There's brave people out there doing brave things with.... rubber duckies. I don't understand it, but I admire all the courage that I'm seeing.

Well, it's nice to meet you all. I go by Michellenore, Evelyn Lyric Silverstein, and the mist witch. My real name is of no importance, as it will only bring my own down fall. I'm a halfblood. My mom was killed for her mudblood status and denying the ministy, and my father died protecting her. My dad's pureblood family thinks I'm dead, and mom's knows that I'm missing. I've a mist flyer, using portkeys and brooms to ride the misty fog and cross the sea line into the states. I'm here to help. Also, I was one of Olivander's apprentices, of the many that he's had. He taught me much before his dissapearance, and no, I do not know where he is. I do, on the other hand, know how to make wands for the unfortunates who have had to escpae without one. Nice to meet you all.

-A. said...

Hi, everyone! I'm known as -A. both on MiM page and now here. It's good that someone made a page where we, the Rebels, could also talk more freely. I'm currently wandering around alone (quite a bit hungry) and waiting for a Patronus from Tonks to help me get into the Order. I've been loud in my supporting of the Rebellion. I was the co-leader of a huge safe-camp but somehow some spies got in and it all fell apart. That's where I was left alone.
Well... that's about all from me right now. Nice to meet you all too! =)

Voldemort said...

I'm going to shut down this site like i did the facebook page muahahaha

Miss Muggle Bug said...

Hi Voldemort. I'd be careful when impersonating that guy. If he finds out you're doing that, you could be punished severely. Well, seeing that our site hasn't been shut down yet, I'm assuming you're just someone playing around.

Michelle, Hello! I'm so glad you make wands. I'm guessing there are people out there needing them. Hey, and if they get one from you, the Ministry can't say it was stolen. Oh...who am I kidding? The Ministry can make up any lie they want.

My sister still has her wand. She's not using it much. We've been paranoid since reading that article which says they're going to put a trace on Muggle-born wands. Is that even possible? Or was it an empty threat?

Hi -A! I'm sorry about your camp. I hope everyone's okay, and that you can find them again. I guess a lot of us feel alone right now. I think it helps a little to have the internet.

Icarus Colby said...

Evelyn, wandmaking's quite a useful skill to have, particularly now that Ollivander is... wherever he is. Well done evading the Ministry so far, and good luck.

Miss Muggle Bug, I have acquired a rubber duckie of my own now. It isn't at all useful, but it's... cheerful, somehow. These duckies have great potential as icons of the Rebellion, in my opinion. Also, they squeak.

Aoife said...

Icarus, hang onto that ducky. It'll come in handy if you decide to join us on any rescue missions.

Miss Muggle Bug said...

Icarus, I love your idea about the rubber duckie being used as a rebellion icon. I think I'm going to use that.

Voldemort said...

Miss muggle bug. you will die in approximately 70 years. I have placed a charm upon you called Decronus Naturalus

Miss Muggle Bug said...

Voldemort,

LOL. Okay. I can live with that...or die with it.

Voldemort said...

Yes. yes u will.

Pepperminz said...

I think it would be cool if everyone continued posting physical sticky-notes even after we reach our goal! We'll show the Ministry they can't keep us down!

Miss Muggle Bug said...

Pepperminz, I think that would be a fun idea. Although there is the chance we might end up helping the Ministry attract new recruits, instead of the rebellion. The link does go to their newspaper full of anti-rebellion propaganda. Maybe we should wait until the rebellion is able to fix the link. I have faith that they'll be able to do that someday.

Mehvish Maghribi said...

Someone mentioned a note Tonk's posted in response to not reaching the goal for the Post-its.

Also, I didn't like how they made it a goal of 15,000 - just because our generation likes to use the computer a lot/etc, does not mean we can can post that many post-its. We just started to get recruits, get organized, etc. :(

Cornelius Von Surname said...

@Miss Muggle Bug, good to hear your sister still has hers, and I was thinking along htose lines for tracing. If I make the wands, then they can't trace them, that is, if the treats are real.
@Icarus I used to hope to finish my training just to help him in the shop, but now it seems fate has other plans. I have this feeling he's alive, but I'm not sure why. Maybe it's because we were around each other so long. Alive doesn't mean well though, so i'm in the process of looking for him. DIfficult task, trust me :P

I think we ought to put rubber duckie picktures on the stickynotes for it! Kill two birds with one stone! Rubber duckies with scars :D

Icarus Colby said...

On the subject of rubber duckies, I've discovered a Muggle candy called Peeps that's made of marshmallow and vaguely resembles a rubber duck. Very delicious.

I take it Ollivander didn't go on vacation, as the Ministry claimed? I was so hoping they weren't lying about that.

Miss Muggle Bug said...

Do you think Ollivander is dead? That's so depressing.

I've heard of Peeps, but haven't had a chance to try them yet. It's one of the many reasons I want to visit America someday.

Aoife said...

Bug, Peeps are icky, you're not missing anything. I'd recommend Butterfinger candy bars or Lemonheads instead. Muggles sure know how to make great sweets!

BTW, I've e-mailed Kingsley Shacklebolt to request that the Muggle song "Rubber Ducky" be played during the concert. They may not be able to, due to copyright issues, but I figured it couldn't hurt to ask.

Miss Muggle Bug said...

Aolfe,

I love the Rubber Ducky song idea! I hope they play it. It would be neat if someone could come up with some new lyrics....maybe something inspirational to motivate Harry, Ron, and Hermione. I wonder if they'll be able to listen in on the concert.

Aoife said...

I tried working on some new lyrics, but all I could come up with so far is:

"Rubber ducky, you're the one
Who makes rebellion lots of fun!"

I'll keep working on this. If anyone else wants to jump in, please do!

And if we can, indeed, write some inspirational lyrics for the Fab Three, someone else would have to sing them. My singing makes dogs howl in pain.

Miss Muggle Bug said...

Aolfe,

That's awesome. I came up with a few lines when in the shower.

Rubber Ducky they say you're for fun.
But I think you could beat the dark one.
Rubber Ducky I put some of my faith in you.

I think I prefer your lines Aolfe.

Trying to think of more.....

Rubber Ducky please help us
We're not just making a silly fuss.
Rubber Ducky we can't all be Pure Bloods.

Every day when we read what the ministry is writing
We see we must keep on with all of our fighting.
We're Dumbeldore's Army

Rubber Ducky you have no scar
So you can only get us so far.
Rubber Ducky we still are in need of you.

Rubber Ducky I'll be your fan
If you can keep us out of Azkaban
Rubber Duckie I'm scared of the Dementer's Kiss.

As you can tell, songwriting is not my strong suit. So let's keep working on this.

Anyone have any ideas. I'm willing to sing if no one else wants to. But I can't play an instrument. It would probably be better if we could find someone who can.

Aoife said...

Excellent, Miss Bug! I can play the guitar and piano very, VERY badly - and I currently have no access to a guitar or piano - but I'm sure there's someone here who is a talented musician who could accompany your vocals.

Volunteers? Anyone?

Miss Muggle Bug said...

Aoife,

Is there a spell we can use that will bring together my singing and someone's guitar/piano playing even if we're not in the same place?

Maybe we should hope that there's someone out there who can sing and play an instrument.

Aoife said...

Mmm, let's try this:

Cantare Organum!

Now we'll have to wait a bit to see if it worked.

Icarus Colby said...

This is important! What do you know, any of you, about the Muggle massacre in Berkswell? I've received an anonymous owl with serious allegations regarding - well, I can't simply trust whoever wrote this note, but - I just don't know what to think. Do any of you know what happened and who took part?

Miss Muggle Bug said...

Icarus,

I don't know anything. Sorry. Maybe someone else does.

Icarus Colby said...

Someone else did, Miss Muggle Bug. Apparently, I've been letting a Death Eater work in my shop - well, not a Death Eater yet, but she intends to be. How do they lure people in like that? She's not evil and I'd think she'd be too intelligent for their games. I can't believe - well, in any case, Colby Apothecary is significantly safer now, and I'm looking to hire a new assistant.

Miss Muggle Bug said...

Icarus Colby,

Oh no! I'm sorry. Don't blame yourself. People can be really good at fooling us.

Good luck finding your new assistant. You're welcome to advertise here for the position. Just email me the advertisement, and I'll post it.

Do you think there's any way to talk sense into your old assistant? How did you find out she was working with the Death Eaters?

Icarus Colby said...

Miss Muggle Bug,

Thank you. I'll try to write something up soon. It's hard to keep up with all this work /and/ find someone to do the work. I have a new appreciation for how hard Wren had to - never mind.

I was sent an anonymous note telling me of her involvement in the mass Muggle killing at Berkswell. I didn't want to believe it, since I considered her something of a friend, but I owled Mrs. Tonks-Lupin for information. She didn't know if Wren was at Berkswell, but she knew she'd taken part in activities supporting the Dark Lord. An aspiring Death Eater, she said. I confronted Wren and she didn't deny any of it, so... I fired her.

Perhaps she can be reasoned with, but... I wouldn't know where to start. I don't know why she joined that lot in the first place. She got a N.E.W.T. in Muggle Studies and she's always advocated for their rights. I just don't understand.

Miss Muggle Bug said...

Icarus Colby,

It's really sad. I'm sorry.

Annikia Longbottom said...

Quick Comment: You spelled Dumbledore wrong on the top of the page. :)

Miss Muggle Bug said...

Annikia,

Oh no. LOL. I'm so embarrassed!

Thank you VERY much for pointing that out

Annikia Longbottom said...

(TotalDork) S'ok. :) I'm just kind of obbsesive about that kind of thing... (/TotalDork)

Aoife said...

Looks like my spell didn't work. *sigh*

Miss Muggle Bug said...

Aoife,

Do you mean your music spell? Sorry, but yeah...I don't think it worked, unfortunately. No one has magically appeared to play the piano for me.
